What Are Travel Coffee Makers?

By Markus Smith

If you are always on the go on business trips or just traveling out of time and it just seems like anywhere you go, you just can't enjoy a good cup of coffee, a travel coffee maker may be just the thing you need. If you drink your coffee at restaurants, then you know how difficult it can be to find a restaurant with great tasting coffee. Travel-style coffee makers make it easy for you to brew your own coffee just the way you like it from any hotel room you may be staying.

You can find a portable coffee maker just about anywhere, but finding one that is a quality product can be a little more difficult. Retailers carry hundreds, maybe even thousands, of variations and styles, and it can get confusing comparing them after a while. Not to mention the fact that some of the ones you find on store shelves are not all that travel-friendly at all. It's important for things you take with you on vacation or business trips to make you feel at home, but it is also important that a little bit of travel will not break your coffee maker as well.

If you are looking for one that is truly portable, you need to find out that is light weight and has a simplistic design. You might find that these types of coffee makers actually look quite a bit different from the coffee machine you use at home. These models boil the water up into the filter, and often the water comes out of the side of the machine and pours out into your cup. This way the water is pushed up to flow into the filter and drip. They are made this way to make them much smaller than other styles of coffee maker, and they are extremely durable: there is no glass to break and their compact design makes them easy to safely pack up.

If you are interested in a particular model of travel coffee maker, be sure that it is under at least a one-year warranty. Tough they are fairly durable, they can still break, especially when you are on the road. Warranties are an important part of buying any appliance or machine, so absolutely make sure that you are getting a warranty with your new coffee maker. A solid warranty also shows that a manufacturer is confident in their product and are willing to make it up to you in case something happens.

All in all, you can't do much better than a travel coffee maker if you have to go on trips every so often. Coffee is an essential part of just about everyone's day, and it feels all that much better to be able to brew it yourself from just about anywhere. If you want delicious coffee no matter where you are, these should be your first choice.
