Over worked ... Under Paid?
Are you in a financial state of panic because they have cut your hours to 30hrs. per week? Maybe you are fearing that you may not make the cut during the next round of lay-offs. After all, what's really important is that their end of the year reports looks good to the stockholders.
I know what you're thinking....the holidays are right around the corner and you can totally abuse yourself working crazy overtime and double-time hours to compensate for your low pay and a lack of hours over the past few months. If you're lucky , you might make it through the holidays without landing yourself in the hospital from sleep deprivation or the flu you picked up from any one of the 5000 plus guests daily that you have had face to face contact with.
Maybe some angry guest will assault you by spitting in your face or cursing you out because you're doing your best to maintain control of the organized chaos created by an overcrowded park, long lines, "technical difficulties" with the rides, overpriced food, crying children and worn out spirits. Sound familiar?
Believe me my friend, I can relate! I was stuck in the same rat race for almost 20 years. You work your butt off for the management team for little or no recognition. The Coordinators take the credit for your extra efforts. Your petty co-workers take your knowledge and expertise for granted and seem to be more interested in creating drama than doing their job.
I am speaking from experience friends because I was stuck in the same rat race for almost 20 years. Regardless of what's happening in your personal life, you show up every day with a smile on your face, cleanly groomed, thirsting for recognition for your extra efforts from peers, management and the guests who you work so diligently to serve. If you will go the extra mile for all these other people.....why don't you do it for yourself and your family? Quit trading your valuable time for money!
