Heal and Relax with Massage Oils
Ahh Rub it in! Imagine yourself lying face down and being pampered to the hilt with a relaxing massage. There is nothing like a massage to soothe and smooth out our frazzled nerves. And, when you couple this with aromatic massage oils, now that's really something!
Massage oils are important. Not only does it make the movement of hands and fingers smooth, the scent also does a lot to promote a feeling of well-being. Oils also have various healing abilities. Some have moisturizing properties while some provide healing and relief from pain.
Having said that, let us look at some massage oils:
Jojoba oil is taken from the wax of jojoba seeds. It effectively cleans the pores of the skin, ridding these of dirt and grime. Jojoba (pronounced ho-ho-ba) is great not just as a massage oil - it is also used for hair care products, facial products and lotions. Apricot kernel oil, on the other hand, is an excellent carrier oil. This fine-textured oil has a lot of vitamin E as well as poly-unsaturated fatty acids.
Chamomile oil and lavender oil virtually have the same therapeutic properties. Both help you get a good night's sleep, as these relax the mind. Chamomile oil is also useful to relive one of insect bites and headaches.
Sandalwood oil also is an excellent stress reliever. It is also helpful for those who are asthmatic, or who have bronchitis, coughs, sore throat and urinary tract infections. Having a scent similar to sandalwood oil is cedar-wood oil, which also reminds one of the smell of pencils. It is also beneficial for those who have urinary tract infections. It also helps to rid one of phlegm and bladder and kidney ailments.
The above oils are just a few from a long list of massage oils you could choose from. There are a lot of essential oils and carrier oils that have various useful properties. You can make your own oil by mixing the ones you like.
