Many young women plan their wedding from a very young age. By the time they are ready to plan their wedding they have already envisioned the entire process. The dress, cake, decor, have all been thought through and every detail has been imagined. But, the budget that is available to make that dream a reality sometimes creates a problem and it is then that a couple must work together to find some bright ideas for weddings on a budget.

Strategy: Having a written strategy that lists all of the items that will need to be addressed will help an individual to stay on track. The strategy should include every item that is important to the individuals getting married as well as those who are contributing to the wedding party. Once the strategy is in place and agreed to items cannot be added. It is important to the budget that the strategy not be altered after it is finalized.

An honest discussion about the finances that are available for the wedding will help to keep costs down. If more resources are needed it is a good idea to share the plan and budget with family members who may contribute to the wedding fund. When figuring out costs of items it is a good idea to add to the cost rather than think of the item at its' sale price. In addition, adding a 10% contingency to the budget for emergency purchases or to offset an unexpected expense will save a lot of frustration as the wedding day draws closer.

Timing: The total expense of many pieces of the event will depend greatly on the timing of the wedding. Most venues, caterers, photographers, and other service providers that cater for weddings have much higher prices during the peak wedding season and on weekends. If the wedding is planned for a weekday that is off season it is possible to get an exceptional discount from all of these providers.

Guests: When creating a guest list it may be easier to think of dollars instead of people. The average cost is about 100, it does not take many guests to use up an entire budget. Having a wedding on a weekday will reduce the number of guests significantly, however if necessary it will be important to keep the guest list manageable and within the budget that has been established.

Location: Finding a location that is cost effective and beautiful will be less of a challenge if the wedding is planned for a weekday off season. Many locations have significant breaks in the cost of services during their off periods and during the week. By selecting the location in this way you will be able to get the most services for your wedding. You will want to ask a lot of questions regarding the location and services and make sure that they are included in the paperwork before you sign and pay a deposit. Remember that once the deposit has been paid it can be very difficult to retrieve if the complaint is that a service you thought would be provided is not. Especially if it was not included in the paperwork that you signed.

Decorations: A florist that is has worked with many different couples and budgets for weddings will be able to provide you with many alternatives to make the flowers you select do the greatest job for your wedding. Many times a florist will have alternative flowers available that are much more cost effective but will be as beautiful as the expensive flowers that you like. Florists who are trained in wedding arrangement creation can give advice on how to use the flowers, bouquets, and arrangements in ways that will look much more expensive than you may have paid.

Planning and determination to stick to the proper budget will create a wedding that is both beautiful and cost effective. By creating a list of bright ideas for weddings on a budget before buying anything a couple can make the day of their dreams a reality.
