Do You Know Why Is Dogtraining Vital For Your Puppy?
Dogs are much more than some nice beings that bring a smile on our face. They are individuals and have different personalities. Often their natural instincts are more powerful that we want, which leads to conflicts. Therefore we must understand their actions and then teach them to live in accordance with our demands. Understanding dog behavior is the most important part of dog training.
Your dog will never be part of your family if you don't train him. Although training can be done at any age, the best is to do it when your dog is still a puppy, in his first months of life. This will help him understand you better.
For an effective communication between two individuals it's required the use of a language that can be understood by both of them. This process takes places easily between people, because they have different communication systems available. But when a man has to communicate with other species, the problem is complicated because there is no common language. Or maybe it exists, but not all people can see and understand it. By training your dog, you offer him the possibility to communicate with you. Thus, he learns a series of words that have a meaning for both of you. On the other hand, you must be able to understand his gestures and behavior.
First of all, you must learn the meaning of your dog's gestures. When he holds his head high and his neck arched, the dog wants to show that he has a higher rank than another individual. If he only holds his head high, it means that he's interested in something. When the dog holds his head down, he shows obedience to someone who is superior to him.
If your dog holds his tail relaxed, it means that he feels comfortable. When his tail is hidden between his legs, he shows fear. If he's wagging his tail at a slow speed, the dog tries to understand you.
Your dog's level of attention is best expressed by the way he holds his ears. When he is focused on something, his ears are erect facing forward. Ears laid back express a timid reaction or fear. However, some dog breeds have drop ears, being unable to send clear signals.
Pets begin to socialize from their first days of life. It is recommended for a pet to spend at least 8 weeks with his mother, in order to learn what obedience is. But once he is adopted by a human family, the socialization process must continue. Expose the pet gradually to external stimuli. Help him get used with all family members. Allow your puppy to interact with children and mature dogs. Socializing will be more intense if you begin to walk the dog in the park where he has the possibility to interact with people and new situations.
As you see, there are many factors that have a key role in dog training. What matters the most is to treat your dog as an equal, without underestimating his ability to understand you. It's very important to reward him every time he does something good; if he refuses to obey, don't give him any incentives.
