Packaging Tape Can Be Used For More Than Packages
Have you ever taken a box to the post office without it being secured with packaging tape? They would not accept it would they? Nor can you close your box with masking tape, scotch tape or even duct tape for that matter. No you have to use the proverbial packaging tape. And if you try to get the post office to lend you a strip they will point to their for sale items and tell you to buy a roll there. Do not buy it from them. It is less expensive online or at your local discount store.
The post office knows its stuff. They know they do not want boxes breaking at the seams. That is one reason they require the strong reliable packaging tape. This strong tape is good for other purposes besides sealing boxes though.
Another good characteristic of packaging tape is that it is clear. So if you do not want the tape to be seen, use packaging tape so people cannot easily see it.
I have used packaging tape on vinyl furniture. If there is tear on the cushion or arm of a couch or sofa place a double strip of packaging tape on it. This will keep the rip or tear from getting bigger.
If you have wood molding that is coming apart and you do not want to hammer a nail because it might split the wood, use a strip of packaging tape.
You can use packaging tape in your car. How many times does car upholstery tear because of sun damage? You can keep tears or rips from getting bigger with a strip of packaging tape until you can repair the area. This also works for the ceiling of the inside of your car if there is tear there.
If you need a quick screen repair to keep the flies and mosquitoes out of your home, use packaging tape. You can use the tape on screen doors also. Some wrought iron security doors have screens on them, but they have gaps where the screen attaches to the iron. Use the packaging tape to close theses gaps. No one will see the tape unless they know it is there and even then they will have to look hard to see it.
Have you seen a flyer announcing a yard or garage sale up on a post? With packaging tape used to wrap it, that flyer will stay up for a long time.
Once you have a roll of packaging tape within reach you will find many, many more functions for it. The shipping expert is the post office. No wonder they require this great product on all packages. However, there is so much more you can do with packaging tape. We have only touched on a few here. Do not limit its use to sealing boxes. Once you see the versatility of packaging tape you will always want a roll within reach to repair until you can replace.
