Eczema - The Secret Diet For Curing Your Eczema

Aug 18, 2007
When it comes to curing your eczema, there is nothing more important that your diet. Let's forget about all the topical lotions and other drugs available on the market for a second here and focus on something that could have a life-altering effect. When it comes to any form of skin disorder, there is nothing more important than sustaining a healthy diet.

Diet And Nutrition

The opinions concerning the significance of nutrition management in Eczema conditions are split. Some experts say that nutrition bears no importance on the triggering, development or alleviation of Eczema. On the contrary, there are others who maintain a firm position and state that diet is one of the triggering factors in Eczema.

Since there are certain nutrition components that can determine the body react in ways that eventually lead to skin damages, we will consider in our turn that a certain influence of dietary habits cannot be neglected. As a consequence we will pay attention to certain nutrients that may lead to affected areas of skin and to those that may actually help in the prevention or elimination of Eczema.

Many people (patients) claim that their Eczema conditions are triggered or worsened by food allergies. Since allergen substances, even those in foods, generally sharpen the functions of the body's immune system, it is only understandable that our immunity codes will also react against external offending agents in foods.

Subsequently, any foods that trigger intolerance should be avoided. An inventory has been made containing the foods that are appreciated as worsening Eczema conditions:

- Chocolate
- Wheat
- Soybeans
- Dairy Products
- Eggs
- Seafood
- Peanuts
- Fruit with Seeds
- Food Chemical Additives

Therefore, you should not eat such foods. Of course, this does not go as a must for all cases of Eczema. Each allergic response is individualized. Patients are not sensitive to all of the types of food tabled above. On the contrary, they may display sensitivity to one or two of them or they could actually have no food sensitivity. You will need to adjust such an inventory to your own allergic predispositions and maybe add a few more and subtract some of those we have listed. Once again, we have only listed the most common ones.

As a result, there are other foods that may aggravate Eczema. Food coloring is one such food ingredient. It would be perfect if you could keep a dietary journal where you could write down for a week or two the types of food that made you feel worse. After a week or two you can confidently consult your diary and see what the most frequent damaging agents were.
