Earn More Money By Developing A Loyal Internet Following

Aug 17, 2007
Relying fully on search traffic will always have its limitations. Getting ranked in search engines can bring you a lot of extra visitors, but the traffic potential of your site can by much more than what search engines can bring to you.

No matter what methods your visitors are using to find your site or blog, it is highly important that you can keep them on your site. Creating a high traffic site relies fully on your ability to retain the visitors that hit your pages. If they keep coming back they will tell their friends, family, and anyone else that might be interested in your site's content.

Keeping your visitors on your site isn't difficult. There are quite a few tips and tricks that you can use to keep people on your site. Here are some of them:

1.Write pillar articles. These are also called authority articles and are also generally longer and more thorough than most other articles that you would write. When visitors find pillar posts, they will start to see you as an authority, which will lead them to come back to your site.

2.Make sure your site organization is easy to follow. A site that is hard to use will have a really hard time getting a lot of traffic. No one will want to use your site unless they can find what they're looking for.

3.Allow your visitors to ask questions. This is really easy if you have a blog. If your site isn't a blog you should make sure that your visitors know they can email you with questions.

4.Show your excitement for your site. If you aren't excited about your site, your visitors won't be. Your enthusiasm for your business can be very infectious.

5.Truly help your readers. Too many internet marketers want to get ranked for their keywords without providing anything of value. If your site reaches the #1 position in Google for a competitive keyword, it will probably be because you have better content than the other sites that try to target that keyword.

6.Create a 'best of' section for your site. If visitors can easily find your most popular articles, they have a much better chance to stay on your site. If they can't find anything that helps them, they will probably click their back button.

7.Add new content often, and do it for your visitors. Many people try to get by without adding fresh content regularly. In order to achieve the maximum results, you will want to add new stuff at least a few times per week. Many of the most successful blogs publish multiple times each day.

As more people continue to read your site, you will start to reap the positive benefits. Many sites will naturally link to yours, and that will lead to a lot more traffic from search engines and other sources. Visitors will also find you via word of mouth, a lost marketing concept that that still be very powerful.
