Selecting The Best Prepaid Phone Card For Your Mobile Phone

Oct 10, 2007
One of the best technological inventions of this time would definitely be the cellular phone. This communication device is used by many people worldwide for business, work and leisure. But if you are using a prepaid phone card for your mobile phone, how sure are you that this is the right one to fit your communication needs.

Before purchasing any prepaid phone card, take the time to research it. Don't decide based on a mere look at the available selection. Instead, know about their services.

Take a close look at their offered rates. There are some cards that are offered upfront with very cheap rates but then are also backed with many hidden fees and charges. You may not be aware of it but then reductions are being made on your balance. Make sure to be aware of all the charges that will possibly be deducted from your phone card balance.

Quite often, connection fees are included in your bill. These charges are typically deducted from your card every time you make a call. Also, when your call is suddenly interrupted and then you have to redial once again the recipient's number, you are again charged with this connection fee.

There are also disconnection fees. These fees are charged on your phone card when you end the call or conversation. It is very much expected that you will be charged when you make a call but it is totally another thing to be charged for ending it.

Also, you are imposed with maintenance fees. These are amounts deducted from you phone card balance usually on a monthly basis even if you are not using it. There are some who are unlucky to have their maintenance fees deducted on a weekly basis and even some on a regular basis at that.

There are even fees when you talk long. If you had known earlier, you wouldn't have opted for this particular prepaid phone card from the start.

But the most severe of all the charges would definitely have to be the multiple minute rounding of minutes called. You are practically charged for minutes that you haven't even used to call. For example, there are prepaid phone cards that round off a couple of minute calls to a 10-minute call, meaning you are charged for a ten minute call for your couple of minutes call.

Many prepaid phone cards come with varying call rates depending on the location and when the call is being made. Others even impose different rates for other cellular network accounts as well as landline phones.

Ensure that you get excellent call connections. Some companies of prepaid phone cards provide low quality calls with what's worse, call interruptions and sudden disconnections.

Lastly, select a provider that you could trust. There are indeed many cheap prepaid phone cards but you'll be sad to hear that most of these come from companies that are fly by night or worst do not even exist at all.
