Take Time Out To Understand Motivation Quotes

Oct 14, 2007
Corporate marketing strategies often involve the usage of strong motivational quotations at vantage points. They resort to this because it is a fact that a good quote can penetrate even the thickest of skulls. What we are talking about is advertising slogans that are powerful enough to make you buy the products even if the products them selves are not in fact special.

Imagine a typical average Joe walking around minding his own business at a shopping wall. He sees an advertising slogan that questions if he is in fact doing anything special with his life and his peace is now replaced by an undying urge to prove to himself that he is worth his salt. This is just a small example of the affect that an advertising slogan can have on your mind. The guy may reach the conclusion that his present job has not provided him with the satisfaction of what he had hoped. He goes on by making a mental note to apply for a bigger and better position elsewhere. The next chance this person gets to get a change of job; he takes the plunge in spite of a similar salary, but on the promise of a better salary as days go by. Eventually he is given the promised promotion and raise in salary at this new company. Looking back, he wishes he had seen that advertising slogan a few years earlier.

This does happen in reality. One quote, the right quote, is enough to motivate you to turn your life around. And, with media so much a part of our everyday lives, we are bombarded with subliminal messages a dozen times a day on the TV, in the papers and on the Internet. When we see a quote that we find inspiring, we tend to make a mental note of it at the back of our minds and it lays there, the idea manifesting itself in the various decisions that we proceed to make after that point in time.

Experts tell us that the true meaning behind quotes cannot be understood just by a passing glance at the words. However, when the same slogan is appears time and again in front of our eyes, it does finally seep in, and this is what advertisements have been doing for so many years. What advertising companies are constantly working towards however is to find the motivation quote that is powerful enough to make you stop and think twice about it.

The next time you see or hear a motivation slogan, do ask yourself if it was powerful enough to start a chain of thoughts in your head? If the answer is yes, then it was an effective quote.
