Why Does My Ex Call After 5 Months?

Oct 15, 2007
Men and women have different ways of processing things. It's actually scientifically proven that the biology of male and female brains are differently structured for varied functioning. Like that bestseller says, men and women may be from different planets.

These differences though are what make it interesting to interact with each other. Although it also is a source of frustration when the honeymoon stage of a love cycle starts to fade. For instance, men have a tendency to avoid conflict and ignore issues that seem to be important to women. This in turn frustrates women then begins the impasse.

The thing is, these issues can easily be avoided with a little bit more open mindedness and extension of understanding to your partner. Just because he behaves not in the way you prefer, this doesn't mean he loves you less or is trying to hurt you. It simply says he's different in his ways and this not be bad or good, it just is.

With a little effort in understanding and receding ego barriers to allow the unique existence of your partner, then harmonious interaction can happen that may bloom into a lasting relationship that may make the fairy tales envious.

Unfortunately, if you did not have the benefit of exercising the above suggestions and have found yourself in the path of the broken hearted, there isn't much you can do but to live and learn.

Perhaps sooner than later you will find that you have recovered from the break up. If you have not yet completely recovered, at least for sure you will find yourself on a steady path towards it. But all this will not happen before you try to win your partner back and make sure you've exhausted all that you can do to save what you have before accepting defeat and starting the painful but liberating process of letting go. In fact, you may hang on for as long as you can if there is any hope that you can still work it out.

Unfortunately your partner will seem to have a different agenda in mind. He may seem to move on ahead of you. And after sometime, you will be on the same page as your ex partner and will start to rejoin the living after moping around after a break up.

So your surprise won't be imagined when your ex calls after 5 months and at the very least he will want to know how you are and the most, he will be sending feelers about starting over and will tell you things like he misses you and such. This will come as a shock since from the way he acted 5 months ago you're sure he wanted nothing to do with you anymore.

Well this puzzling behavior is due to the fact that men have a tendency to, as mentioned above, ignore issues and avoid confrontation. But these issues don't go away, instead it is just delayed. So that when the issue finally catches up with them, some time has passed and perhaps you're already healed and moved on with somebody new.

If in case you have not yet moved on and still have feelings for him, don't dissolve the months of progress you've had. This is not about pride. This is about learning from past mistakes and approaching this possible future with more wisdom garnered from the past. Be sure that if you do hook up together again, you are doing it for the right reasons and you truly have already healed enough not to pick a fight every so often for every little thing because there is still a festering wound inside you.

It wouldn't be fair to either of you to get into another relationship still broken. It is not wise to use another as a crutch to make yourself feel better because this is simply symptomatic relief and does not cure the issue from the source. It is therefore just a matter of time before the issue resurfaces old unhealed hurts that may just sabotage your happiness again. To avoid this, make sure not to take unfair advantage of your partner by getting back together with them without healing yourself first. You owe it to yourself.
