When On The Move - Stay In The Groove

Oct 20, 2007
It's always been like this, when we go out of town for some work, we always forget what's most important to us. We have been working out daily and keep ourselves in groove, but when we go somewhere we forget to be in shape.

When we travel, it's somehow taken for granted that we will not really need fitness training for sometime. The question still remains as to WHY? Is it not important to be fit even when on the run? Are food habits not a mandatory part of your travel plans? When you book hotel rooms, do you not ask for the room service and feed yourself well? Then why not think about fitness when you are on a vacation.

We cannot however deny the fact that we can take a few days off from intense workouts. It helps you get back to form in a much better way. Say, as if it rejuvenates you. Just ask we do from work. We take time off and go on a long holiday just to get some peace and be back in form, for better results.

Just because you are traveling doesn't mean you do not follow healthy eating habits or fitness schedules.

Here are a few tricks of the trade to stay fit! Learn it to enjoy it.

It's wise to make up your mind that you will be back in a better shape. When you travel you are bound to meet up some people and have a get together. You will surely add on a few extra pounds. Don't you think it will be great to hear compliments from people when they say, "Wow, you seem slimmer than before."

When you check-in to a hotel room make sure you find out whether there is a self service kitchen. You can whip up some salads for yourself. You cannot afford to skip meals. Every fitness program talks about nutrition. As far as possible avoid no kitchen hotel.

What is coming next is jotting down some target dates and staying focused on them. It's better if you do it everyday. As you prepare the itinerary, it's better to note down the timelines for your fitness program. Draw a calendar and have all the day struck out as you finish working out.

As you walk into your hotel room, walk out immediately to the grocery store and purchase food and other items which are important for your kitchen. When you know you have a full kitchen, you needn't depend on anything and can stick to your diet.

Go online and checkout some restaurants which are there in close proximity of the hotel. Everything is given online, so you check out the food items which are also prepared by them.

You can decide as to what you want to eat. If you eat something you are not supposed to then, burn it out by workout. Why not have fun and work go hand in hand?
