Opening Up In Order To Receive

Oct 23, 2007
I often tell people that they need to "empty their cup," or "take out their trash." Many people hold onto their current beliefs and ideas about the world and themselves that do not serve them. Your ability to let go of those ideas, concepts, and beliefs that are not useful and that do not serve you is directly related to your ability to attract and manifest the life that you want to live.

Simply because most people do not want to be wrong, they will cling to ideas and concepts and perceptions of the world that are outdated or are not useful. Many times people don't even realize that they cling to these ideas and concepts as strongly as they do. You must overcome the desire and need to cling to ideas and concepts simply to be right if you ever wish to open up and attract and manifest those things that you want to have, do, and be.

Start by taking note of those things that you believe. Those concepts, beliefs, ideas, and perceptions that you cling to as being true and real. Challenge those beliefs on a regular basis. Be willing to be wrong, and start being wrong right now. This is essential if you ever wish to move forward and truly start living a life of true magic and wealth in all areas of your life.

The faster you start to be wrong, and admit that you are wrong, the quicker you can begin to open up and start to receive true understanding, knowledge, and the ability to attract and manifest those things that you want. There is a story of a student who goes to a great buddhist teacher and asks him to teach him how to become enlightened. While listening, the teacher and the student sit while drinking tea. At a certain piont the teacher tells the student that his mind is like the cup, and proceeds to throw the cup of tea on the student. The teacher tells the student that until he empties his mind, just the teacher emptied the cup, nothing more will fit into it.

You must be willing to empty your cup and realize that you don't know what you think you know. If you had the answers, you would already be living the life that you truly desire to live. Empty your own cup, your own mind, and create space for new ideas, new concepts to come in. Until you do this, there will not be any more space or room for anything else to fit.

The more you cling to ideas and concepts, the less likely you are to become the person you need to be in order to attract and manifest those things that you want in your life. "Take out the trash," and the trash is all the stuff you keep in your mind that keeps you from living the kind of life that you truly deserve to live. The kind of life that allows you to truly connect with the world around you and manifest and attract those opportunities and things you need in order to have, do, and be anything and everything you want.
