Practical Covert Hypnosis for Sales

Oct 24, 2007
Hypnosis can actually be a far more subtle thing than most people realize. In fact, hypnosis can be used to covertly influence and persuade others to do most anything you want them to do.

Hypnosis is simply any state where your critical reasoning faculties are not filtering what you perceive.

Any time you find yourself daydreaming you are in a hypnotic trance. That state of mind where your imagination is active and you are visualizing potential events is a trance state.

When in this state of mind your subconscious is readily accessible to suggestions, whether they are self-directed or implanted by others.

Suggestions that are successfully inserted into your subconscious mind can be very powerful and influential. Your subconscious mind doesn't have the ability to reason or analyze so any thought that enters your subconscious mind is automatically treated as valid and true.

What's more, your subconscious mind will motivate you to act on those thoughts that take root there.

As you can imagine, covert hypnosis can give you a powerful advantage during the selling or persuasion process. But, it doesn't work like you might imagine.

The first stage of covert hypnosis is simply the process of gathering information about your target. This stage is absolutely critical to your chances of a successful persuasion attempt.

Since everyone is different you need to understand how your target thinks, what they value and what their goals are before you can hope to persuade them to buy your product or service.

This set of information will give you the ammunition you need to tailor your sales message so that it is in alignment with your targets values, goals and way of thinking. I can't stress enough how important this step is.

Let me explain: if you present your sales message in a way that contradicts your targets attitudes, values and beliefs you are going to immediately trigger his critical reasoning filters. Any communication that goes against the accepted beliefs, values and ideals of your target will be stopped cold before it has any chance of reaching their subconscious mind.

The result is a failed persuasion attempt.

If you are careful to learn all you can about your target's psychological makeup you will understand how to frame your sales message so that it aligns with their values, beliefs and ideals. Such a message will encounter virtually no resistance because it serves to confirm what they already believe.

While this method does not induce an obvious hypnotic trance it does achieve the same effect as any other hypnotic suggestion. What's more, it is virtually unnoticeable to your target.

They will simply see you as someone who has similar values and philosophically agrees with them on most subjects. Additionally, the process of gathering information about your target offers an excellent opportunity to demonstrate your interest in their life, business and hobbies.

Covert hypnosis isn't some mystical practice that allows you to assume control over your target. It is, instead, a process of information gathering and communication that allows you to bypass your targets critical reasoning faculties by presenting your message in alignment with your targets values, beliefs and ideals.

The result is a successfully implanted hypnotic suggestion that almost can't help but drive your target to perform the desired action.

While this technique does require some practice it is well worth it. Once you have achieved mastery you will be able to sell nearly any product of genuine value seemingly at will.
