Lose Weight: Buy A Pasta Maker

By Jim Brown

Incredible as it sounds, you can lose weight while still enjoying your pasta. The solution? Buy your very own pasta maker.

Many weight loss gurus have condemned pasta as a source of unwanted carbohydrates. Most pasta sold in supermarkets today is made mostly of white flour, which is easily absorbed into the body, causing your body to store more fat. With your very own pasta maker, you get to decide what goes in your pasta. You can choose to make pasta out of whole grains, which is a delicious and a healthy alternative to the usual white flour pasta.

Pasta makers not only help you lose weight, they are a lot of fun to use too. There are automatic pasta makers and manual pasta makers. Both have their pros and cons. Automatic pasta makers, as the name suggests, are more convenient to use compared to manual pasta makers. All you have to do is gather fresh, healthy ingredients for your pasta (such as semolina, brown rice, and even vegetables), place everything in the mixing chamber, and turn on the machine. After pressing the appropriate buttons, out comes your pasta fresh and ready to be cooked.

On the other end of the spectrum of pasta makers are the manual pasta makers. These pasta makers are much more challenging to use. You first have to mix your ingredients yourself. Then knead the pasta dough with your hands. After that, you place the place the pasta dough between the rollers in the pasta machine and turn on a crank to move the pasta dough between the rollers, and through some cutters. The consistency of the pasta isn't as even as that of pasta made from an automatic pasta maker. It all depends on the manner or method used in kneading the pasta and turning on the crank. Avid fans of pasta making prefer the manual pasta maker for many reasons. One of them is that they find it more relaxing to knead the pasta dough with their own hands before sliding them in the pasta rollers. Another is that pasta making becomes more personal, even an art form, with no two batches of pasta being exactly alike. If you really want to lose weight, you might want to consider using a manual pasta maker. Mixing the ingredients for the pasta, kneading the pasta dough, and even turning on the crank on the pasta machine takes a lot of effort and leads to burning up a lot of calories.

After successfully making your delicious, yet healthy, pasta, you might want to try out some recipes for some scrumptious, equally healthy sauces. There are many sources from which you can find free recipes for fat-free or low-fat, low-calorie sauces that are fortified with vitamins and other nutrients. You can try surfing the internet, going to your local library, or checking out your nearest bookstore.

For pasta lovers like you, losing weight and maintaining a healthy body is not too difficult with the help of a pasta machine, a little ingenuity and some creativity.
