Who Else Wants To Know The Symptoms Of Celiac Disease

Nov 9, 2007
Celiac disease is also known as a wheat allergy. It important to learn the symptoms of this disease because many doctors have mistaken symptoms of celiac disease for anemia.

Food allergies do not set off alarm bells for doctors. Instead, doctors just think that it is something else. As Celiac disease has become an increasing problem many doctors now believe that wheat intolerance is responsible for a lot of people's poor health.

Why The Symptoms Of Celiac Disease May Be Mistaken

Anemia is a condition wherein you do not have a sufficient amount of robust red blood cells to carry enough oxygen to supply your body with what it needs to function properly. The symptoms of anemia include the following and are similar to the symptoms of Gluten intolerance:

* Headaches
* Cognitive difficulties
* Chest pains
* An irregular or speedy heartbeat
* Lethargy;
* Coldness and/or numbness in your hands and feet
* Dizziness
* Shortness of breath
* Pale skin

If you complain to a doctor that you are suffering from these symptoms of celiac disease they may think that you are anemic. However, this does not mean that if you are feeling any of these symptoms of celiac disease that you should not tell your doctor. Your doctor needs to know so he/she can figure out if you are anemic or not. If you are not anemic then you need to have a test done to see if you do have the disease.

Something else that you may want to consider is whether or not any of your other family members suffer from the symptoms of celiac disease as it is known to be hereditary. If anyone in your family has already been diagnosed with this disease, then there is a good chance that you may have the condition as well.

If all of this seems to be quite confusing to you, then you really should take some time to look around and research the disease and its symptoms even more. There are a lot of excellent resources available about the symptoms of as well as lifestyle guides to help you live life with as little inconvenience from the condition as possible.

Much of this information can be found on the Internet. However, you should never replace your doctor's advice with that which you find on the Internet.

If you feel that you suffer from the symptoms you should try to eat only fresh healthy foods like raw vegetables. You should also try to eat less processed foods as well.

Cut out any and all wheat that you are eating for a few weeks to see if your symptoms of the disease disappear. If your symptoms of celiac disease do diminish or disappear after following the above recommendations, then you more than likely have celiac disease and should consult your doctor.
