Why Loafers Are Still Some Of The Most Popular Shoes Available Anywhere

Nov 22, 2007
There may never have been a single style of shoes that has been enjoyed by more people than loafers. Men, women, and children have worn loafers for decades and still wear them today. They attract people with their dependable comfort. They are easy to wear and can be used in almost any situation. Styles are even beginning to be important features of loafers. Loafers are rock solid examples of practical footwear.

One of the first things you will notice if you are trying on your first pair of loafers is that they slide on easily. This makes them quick for anyone to put on. If the person needing shoes has a disability, loafer shoes that slip on can mean the difference in being able to put on their own shoes or having to ask for help.

Older people often cannot bend in a way to allow them to tie their shoes. Some have trouble tying shoes because of arthritis in their hands and fingers. They will often use a tennis shoe with a Velcro strip to make things easier. However, these shoes generally do not look very attractive, especially with formal attire. Having a good pair of loafer shoes allows seniors to put on their own shoes to look and feel great.

When you have worn loafer shoes, you will find that comfort is also a big advantage. Very few are made of anything but leather. This means that your foot can breathe; even more so because the shoes are not tight or high topped. Cushioning and arch support inside of loafer shoes make you feel better wearing loafers than if you were walking barefoot. The small heels on most loafers are not enough to cause strain on your toes, ankles, or legs. Quite the contrary, the small heels are usually more comfortable to walk in than a completely flat shoe because it allows more room for arch support. You can rest assured that a good-fitting pair of loafer shoes will make your feet feel fine, no matter how long you wear them.

Loafer shoes are a must for anyone who wants to pare down the size of their shoe collection. With one or a few pairs of loafer shoes, a person can go to just about any function with head held high. Loafers go great with jeans, making you look sophisticated without looking fussy. Loafer shoes can be worn to the office with slacks suits or skirts. They are no-nonsense shoes that will carry you through your day without cramping your feet. A nice pair of loafer shoes can be substituted for dress shoes during formal occasions, especially if you are not able to wear more challenging dress shoes like high heeled shoes. Since loafers can be used for virtually any occasion, it is wise to keep a few pairs in your closet.

People around the globe wear loafer shoes. What with the new styles, like canvas loafers, and the more traditional styles, like penny loafers and men's tasseled loafer shoes, the loafer shoes are more popular than ever. They are so easy to wear that anyone from small children to disabled people to pregnant women can put them on without help. They are some of the most comfortable shoes you will find. With styles for any occasion, there is every reason to have loafers in your shoe wardrobe.
