Treat It For The Miracle It Is: Filtering Your Drinking Water

Nov 28, 2007
For those of us who know how to control and maintain an ideal weight, water is truly a miracle weight control substance. Not taking in an adequate amount daily will leave you feeling frustrated, and achieving your ideal weight will prove to be next to impossible.

Once people begin to thoroughly understand how incredibly important water is for their internal health and well being the next question eventually surfaces,"is my tap water really safe to drink?" As a whole, people in the United States are big on buying purified water.

Many people take safe drinking water seriously by having home water filtration systems installed, or have bottled water delivered to their homes, or take water jugs to a store for refilling. Is all of this really necessary? How unsafe could my tap water really be? After all, if it looks, smells, and tastes fine it is probably safe to drink , right?

Please do not be lured into this misconception .Our planet Earth reuses the same water over and over, so there really is no 'new' water. Every chemical used by our modern culture eventually ends up in our drinking water supply. The toxicity of our water reserves increases as the use of chemicals increases from industries. The earth's natural filtration system and recycling process can not effectively remove all of these toxins.

The human body is made up of more than 70 percent water. We rely on this miracle of water for life and the proper functioning of every cell in every organ in our bodies. All internal healing processes require water. We need clean water to eliminate body wastes and other toxins, and if these wastes are allowed to accumulate as a result of inadequate water consumption, chronic fatigue and illness develops.

Along with healthier eating habits water is also a most important nutrient. By drinking purified water you will not be putting additional toxins in your body, thus helping you to eliminate old accumulations you may already have.

While buying bottled water is certainly popular and convenient while traveling or when you are away from home, it is to expensive for long term household use. Simply put, a home filtration system is the simplest, cheapest, and most effective way to purify household tap water.

When choosing a filtration system for the home it is a wise decision to first have your tap water tested. Further testing periodically (about once a year) is also recommended. This will help you find out exactly what, if anything, is in the tap water you are drinking.

It is best to rely on an independent laboratory for test results. A good place to obtain unbiased test results would be through your local University Extension Office in your county of residence. Do not rely on test results a water purifying dealer shows you, after all they are trying to sell you their system.

You will then need to do your homework in deciding what type of water purifying system is needed for your home. There are many different types available. Costs can vary dramatically, and should not be the only determining factor when choosing a system. Consider what it is able to remove, how much it costs to maintain, how often filters need changing. To keep your investment operating at its peak level follow the manufacturer's recommendations.

The end result of purifying your household tap water should be a great tasting water that you enjoy drinking more of and healthier for you to drink. Treating the water should leave all the natural occurring trace minerals that are present that are beneficial to your body. The system you choose should therefore only remove the hazardous substances that harm your health.

Serious water connoisseurs do respect the quality of their preferred beverage. They treat it like it is a miracle, for it truly is!
