The Japanese Ergonomic Seat: A New Twist On An Old Success

Dec 12, 2007
Even though Japanese manufacturers have a reputation for copying their products from Western originals, they have also introduced many groundbreaking innovations over the years. Ergonomic products are those designed to maximize human efficiency in the workplace by being built to accommodate human physiology. Although first developed in Scandinavia, ergonomic office chairs have taken the business culture by storm, and the Japanese ergonomic seat is an attractively priced alternative to those from Western manufacturers.

The Success Of The Japanese Design

If you, however, are interested in coming up with your own ergonomic product, you can look wither to the traditional Scandinavian design or turn to the Japanese ergonomic seat for guidance. Both the Japanese and Koreans have developed unique ergonomic seat designs and the Japanese ergonomic seat is even more highly regarded for its comfort than ergonomic seats of American or European manufacture.

So if you would like to develop a low-cost, comfortable, and well-constructed product, researching the design of the Japanese ergonomic seat is a great way to start. If you don't believe that the Japanese ergonomic seat can possibly live up to its reputation, consider that most Japanese, as late as World War II, normally sat on their bare floors during meals, and now as many as seven out of ten Japanese use a Japanese ergonomic seat for comfort.

The Mazda MPV

The Japanese automotive manufacturer has added a variety of Japanese ergonomic seat, the Super Relax Seat, to the middle row of seats in its Mazda MPV. The Japanese ergonomic seat used in the Mazda NPV is equipped with a seat tilting feature. Along with other seat features, the Japanese ergonomic seat used in the Mazda MPV evenly distributes the passengers' weight so that his or her muscles experience less stress and fatigue during long trips. The Japanese ergonomic seat also improves circulation, and is simply unparalleled in the amount of comfort it provides.

The Japanese ergonomic seat used in the Mazda is a great example of how being a passenger in a car which can be as crowded as the MPV with its three rows of seats need not be a cramped and uncomfortable experience. The Japanese ergonomic seat makes the MPV a relaxing ride for its middle seat passengers, and emphasizes the desirability of incorporating ergonomic seating in every possible situation.

The Japanese ergonomic seat is only one example of how the science of ergonomics, with its vertebrae aligning, posture correcting benefits, can reduce the stress and chronic pain and fatigue which accompany being seated for long periods in confined quarters.

An ergonomic chair is designed to fit a person's needs when sitting for long periods. It is curved and has adjustable parts to fit different people. It will help you sit correctly in turn helping to relieve stress and pain from your daily desk job. The perfect ergonomic office chair does not have a one-size fits-all chair so finding the chair to fit everyone will not be found, although there are plenty of different types of chairs to choose from.
