Can You Really Have The IDEAL Life?

Dec 17, 2007
What does "ideal" mean to you? Think about that for a second. If you think about it, you'll find that you have a particular definition for that word. Do you nurture it? Do you let it breathe in your life? If not, you should.

Even if you consider yourself a "realist," you can be an idealist if you believe that imagination makes anything possible. You can be a realist and be a "dreamer" at the same time.

Is there really a purpose to imagination? You bet. Imagination has given us everything from the automobile to the personal computer. Things that were once considered science fiction are now reality. The people who created those things were "realists" in that they lived an everyday life in the world you and I inhabit as well, but they didn't let "reality" stop them from making a reality that was even better. In short, they made faith and hope tangible, and so can you.

Do you believe that you can create paradise on Earth? You can. Do you want to live forever? It's possible, someday. Do you never want to get sick? It's possible. Make poverty disappear? It's possible. If you believe in it strongly enough, you or someone who believes it just as strongly can invent a way. Every problem contains within it its own solution. New inventions and solutions spring forth every day, at a faster rate than ever before.

There's a popular saying that goes, "If your mind can dream it and believe it, you can achieve it." Do you believe that? Even if you don't now, there was a time when you did, and you can again. You knew how to imagine and dream and believe when you were a child, and if you give yourself a chance, you can as an adult as well.

Let your imagination run free. Think about all the things you have to be grateful for. Think of the "negative" things you've experienced. Is there a way to turn them into something positive? A lesson learned, perhaps? In general, there's a silver lining in every cloud, and you just have to find it. Because of this, you can make every situation an ideal situation, if you just use your imagination.

Think about this for a minute. You create your own truth. You do this every time you have a discussion with someone with opposing views. Of course, you just as staunchly believe you are "right" as the other person does, but it's likely that each of you is simply living your own truth. Let this be the way things are. Let this be the ideal situation, so that you can live your best life. Expect the best.

Let your imagination fill in the places where things haven't quite manifested you want them to be yet. Dream it, to make it possible. That's what imagination is for. Could you ask for anything better?

Because "beauty is in the eye of the beholder," just about everything in life can be beautiful if you look at it with love. Our sight is an extension of our feelings. When you look at some with love, you see them in their best light. This is, in fact, what an idealist does, and what imagination can do for you.

Love sees only perfection, so that when you feel this, you see that it's all that matters. It's what lovers, poets, and dreamers talk about. This is the art of adventure, discovery, play and fantasy.

You can find happiness through creative expression. This is really idealism taking flight with physical action. Reality, too, changes, because it's always being shaped by what happens to it. Most rules and boundaries are only temporary as well, and we don't need to be bound by them. Don't let them limit you and let your imagination run free, with no limitations.

Our lives are our own doing, and our imaginations have been a big part of that. If you expand your perceptions of what your life can be, you'll find that the world around you takes note and adapts itself to your newfound perception.

Today, we know and have more than we ever have before. If we decide to, we can also have a lot more to look forward to. We are continually growing and evolving, but what is it that we're going to become? Only we can decide, and only we can be anything we want to be.

What, then, is ideal? We might not know what this is just yet, but we will find out as we grow into it, only if we let our imaginations remain free and let the best happen. Now, think, feel and imagine beyond anything you ever thought possible. If you do this, you will achieve your ideal and more.
