How Non Surgical Face Lifts Work

Jan 5, 2008
Isn't the face the most important part of your body? People are identified and recognized by their faces. Our face makes a big part of our individuality. When we get older, often the first signs of aging can be seen in our face. The face is important to us but a face lift surgery is a frightening idea for most people. What if something goes wrong?

Not every surgery can be successful, and even if it is, the outcome of facelift can not exactly be predicted. One thing is sure, you may not only look younger but you will also look different. Some patients can not handle the different look and don't feel comfortable with their new face. That's why, and also because of the risks of a surgery, many look for nonsurgical face lift methods.

There are several different ways of less invasive face lift. One is called thermage and it uses the radio frequency energy to manipulate the collagen of your skin. It helps the skin to reorganize the collagen and the skin is tighter and therefore looks younger. Thermage works best for people in the age of 30 to 40 but not that well for older skin. Ideally you start using a thermage when you see the first signs of aging.

The laser facelift is the next option you have. It is very similar to the thermage. The laser heats the collagen and helps the outer skin layers to improve. A tighter skin which gives you a fresh and younger feeling is the result. You can see immediate results which can be improved when you repeat the procedure two or more times after a couple of months.

What else could you do to avoid a surgery? There is also the so called bio-ultimate or microcurrent face lift. Your skin looks better because it gets stimulated by gentle electric currents. Skin activity improves, even the skin muscles are stimulated. Another option you have is trying one of the many face lift creams that contain amino acids. They also help to tighten the skin.

The final option you have is the so called thread face lift. It is very effective but comes near to a surgery but is much less invasive. The cosmetic surgeon makes every small incisions and inserts threads. By using these threads the doctor can tighten the skin and achieve very good lasting results. The thread is invisible and the little scares should be invisible as well. The advantage of this method is that it also shows good results once you get older. It is also much more cost effective than a real face lift surgery.
