Advertisements which are displayed in a video form on a website is known as a video ad. There are many ways by which advertising slots can be purchased on Internet like CPM, CPV, CPC, CPA, CPL and CPO.

CPM means Cost per Million of Impressions, the advertiser pay for impression exposed to visitor who see the ads.

CPV or cost per visitor means that the advertiser is meant to pay for the people to whom the advertisement was delivered.

CPC means Cost Per Click, the advertiser pay for number of clicks made on the advertisement. The amount is only paid after visitor click on the URL of advertisement.

CPA or Cost Per Action, means that the advertiser only pay to the publisher when visitor click on the advertisement, then take into some further action like sign-up, purchase products or services.

CPL or cost per lead is similar to CPA, only that the visitor doesn't have to necessarily buy anything; he or she can simply apply to get regular newsletters and special offers. CPO or cost per order is where the advertiser pays each time an order is placed.

The Internet advertisement is not only used to promote product or service, actually it can be used for many other purposes like promoting charity, education for group meeting.
