If you use Google Adwords, there are some insider secrets that can make a big difference to your ROI.

One thing that you must do is target the correct audience when you write your ads. You target by making your ads as exclusive as possible, even down to the language that you want members of your target audience to speak. Targeting is where all success starts.

Another important factor is to make sure your keywords are refined as much as possible. One technique for this is to place square brackets around your keywords - [keyword]. This is called an exact match keyword and will ensure your ad only gets displayed when someone types in that exact keyword in Google.

If they search for something that includes your keyword in the phrase but has additional words, your ad won't be displayed. This can help reduce your costs for visitors that are not well targeted.

When you are doing advertisement testing, test many ads at the same time, thereby performing a 'split test'. You are finding out which one of your ads is giving you the greatest clickthrough percentage or number of instances. Once you have it pegged, you replace the other ads that you pitted it against with ones that are more like your best producer.

Once you get your clickthrough working well, you also need to ensure you're tracking your ROI (Return On Investment) for each ad. Adwords doesn't do this for you, but you can integrate it with Google Analytics, which will.

It only tracks clickthrough rates for you. You can get a special code to attach to your ads to track the actual purchases made through that ad's being clicked.

Always include your keywords and search phrases in your title and your ad description. Google highlights these for you as your ad appears on a webpage, helping your ads to be more attractive to your targeted audience.
