La Roux New Synth Pop Duo and Their Self Titled First CD

La Roux pronounced LaRoo is just making their way onto the pop scene. This new synth duo band is made up of singer Elly Jackson, a bit eccentric and androgynous woman with a flare for the dramatic has written most of the material based on her on again off again relationship over the past 5 years. Joined by Ben Langmaid, who prefers to stay in the background as a composer and producer in the past, has finally decided to come to the stage to pursue his love of 80s electro pop music. Together they attribute much of their musical influence to 1980s bands the Human League, Blancmange, Yazoo and Heaven 17.
