Photovoltaic cells are increasing in efficiency, but decreasing in cost although they are still the same old black squares placed on solar panels in an array format, but now they are able to concentrate energy to a particular point in a much better manner. The simple black panels called photovoltaic cells can direct sunlight more efficiently and prices are lower, thus making solar energy supply the next possible energy revolution in the near future. The price of solar power energy is tagged at watt per hour at this time of writing. Just 17 years ago, the expense for getting the same performance was about, double what it is today.
